How to Automatically Forward your mail to another Email address (or ISP) (For example, have all your mail go to your AOL account) While you are in Outlook 98, open the Tools Menu. And choose Rules Wizard
You want to make sure all Rules (directions) you give to your Mail Server stay on the Server so if this window pops up choose SERVER
Rules Wizard dialog box opens up, showing all the rules you have created. Choose NEW to create a new rule.
Highlight the first line "Check messages when they arrive". Click NEXT
Now you must select the conditions to check. For this example the best two are
"sent directly to me"
Check the box "forward to people or distribution list". Now before you can click next you must go down to the blue highlighted Rule description box, click on "people or distribution list".
A To: email dialog box will open and you pick an address from the Global Address List or Personal Address Book.. Big key here is you should already have the address created in your Persoanl Address Book or it should be in the Global Address list. But students will not be using a Personal Address Book. So the best choice for students is to use the Outlook Address Book. If you are not familiar with the Outlook Address Book or it is not active in your profile, click here, to learn how to have your contacts appear in the Outlook Address Book.
After you select the Email address to forward it to, the address will appear in the lower box Rule Description. Then Click NEXT
You may now choose some exceptions, if needed. Then click NEXT
Give the Rule a name and Check "Turn on this rule" , to immediately activate the Rule. Click Finish
Click OK to close Rules Wizard To Modify a Rule, for example, you want to stop the rule and have your mail not forwared. Go to Tool Menu, Choose Rules Wizard , and uncheck the rule you wish to Stop. If you will never use it again, just Delete it.
